How do I get the DStv Explora decoder not to respond to commands from the A3/A4?

The remote listen mode set for DStv Explora should be different to the remote mode set on your other decoder. E.g. if the DStvExplora is set to listen to remote mode 3, then the other decoder should be set to listen only to remote mode 1. Thus the DStv Explora remote should only transmit in remote mode 3 and the other decoder should only transmit in remote mode 1

We do not recommend this. However, depending on your abilities and existing installation, self-install is possible. If you are not sure, rather call a MultiChoice accredited installer.

  • If you have a Twin, Quad or Quattro LNB you don’t need to upgrade your installation. You can use the DStv Switch that is packaged with the decoder
  • If you have a SatCR LNB, it might be compatible and you can directly connect to the Explora. Check with your MultiChoice accredited installer
  • If you have a Single LNB, you will have to upgrade your installation to at least a Twin LNB. You cannot use the cable from the Single LNB, even if you split the feed.
